About the Senior Internal Auditor Role
We’re supporting a manufacturing company in Houston that’s hiring a Senior Internal Auditor. This hybrid position (3 days in office, 2 days remote) plays a key role in supporting internal audit projects across operational, compliance, and SOX areas. Ideal candidates will bring 2–6 years of audit experience, a strong understanding of controls and risk assessment, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in and occasionally lead audits, process reviews, and special projects

• Perform testing of internal controls and ensure compliance with SOX requirements

• Analyze risk areas and contribute to the development of audit plans

• Prepare clear and well-documented audit workpapers and reports

• Identify process improvement opportunities and communicate findings to leadership

• Support internal investigations and vendor audits as needed

• Coordinate with external consultants and auditors during audit engagements

• Travel up to 25% (domestic and international, planned in advance)

Key Qualifications:

• 2–6 years of experience in internal audit or public accounting

• Strong knowledge of internal controls, risk assessment, and SOX compliance

• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

• Experience with SAP or JD Edwards preferred

• Professional certification (CPA, CIA, CISA) or progress toward one is a plus

• Manufacturing or industrial experience a plus

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting, Finance, or related field)
