Join Our Team as a Mother-Baby Nurse!

Position Highlights:

• Unit Overview:
  • Deliver approximately 1,300 babies each year!
  • 18 Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum (LDRP) Rooms
  • 10 Antepartum/Postpartum Rooms
  • 5 Triage Rooms
  • 2 Operating Rooms
  • 7 Level II Nursery Rooms
• Patient Population:
  • Providing Women and Children’s services to families throughout Central Illinois .
  • Level II Nursery with neonatology services.
• Nurse to Patient Ratio:
  • Our Nursing Care Committee collaborates to establish patient acuity-based guidelines for staffing levels, ensuring quality care and optimal outcomes.
• Department Culture:
  • Experience a culture of shared governance where your voice matters! Collaborate with leaders to shape patient care and practice evidence-based nursing.
• Nursing Skills & Equipment:
  • Provide direct, individualized nursing care based on scientific principles, including:
  • Coordinating care plans for mothers and infants.
  • Monitoring bonding and emotional well-being.
  • Supporting breastfeeding journeys.
  • Educating families on best practices for care.

Qualifications

• Certifications:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year - AHA
  • Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - AHA
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 1 year - AAP
• Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • College Diploma in Nursing

Responsibilities

As a Mother-Baby Nurse, you will:

• Perform all unit-specific responsibilities and duties.
• Implement procedures and theories related to your area of practice.
• Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care.
• Conduct initial assessments and develop care plans based on patient needs.
• Monitor fetal well-being and administer medications specific to obstetric patients.
• Participate in the intrapartum care of patients and newborns.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $31.65 - $54.44 per hour . Actual compensation will depend on various factors, including experience and qualifications.
