Job Description We are looking for a Public Health Investigator to be responsible for conduct quantitative and qualitative research on bereavement support and work to improve systems that better support the mental health of families that suffer a loss. This position will be full-time contract and remote . What You'll Do + Creating, maintaining, and supporting a bereaved parent focus group + Research best practices in bereavement support and assess data from focus group to create a bereavement toolkit for the State of Indiana + Work with the Indiana FIMR network to create a data collection bereavement report for a more robust FIMR case review + Work with Fetal-Infant Mortality Programs Director, Maternal Mortality Programs Director, and Suicide & Overdose Programs Director to assess if deaths may be related to a lack of bereavement support + Present findings to internal and external stakeholders to promote better access to bereavement services statewide + Work in cooperation with other Division programs, including MMR, Safe Sleep, SOFR, and prevention program development to create materials and documents for bereavement support prevention and outreach + Promote activities and findings to other and state agency divisions, including but not limited to MCH, DMHA, Medicaid, and DCS + Establish and foster relationships between other Divisions and state agencies, to create a network of health promotion experts and community resources + Compose abstracts and proposals for program presentation at local, state, and national events + Present bereavement programming at local, state, and national events + Work with the FRP team, local FIMR teams, community agencies, and hospital systems statewide to advance bereavement support, follow-up care, and maternal mental health needs after a loss What You'll Need Required: + Master's Degree public health-related or similar field, such as health promotion, health communication, health education, social work, or public health preferred and two years of related experience.
