Reports to: Production Scheduling Manager

The Production Scheduler is responsible for the creation of production schedules to meet customer demand while maximizing manufacturing output. This role will ensure the effective use of labor, machine resources, and inventory to achieve optimum schedules, leveraging analytical and project management skills to drive cross function collaboration and alignment to production plans.

Key Responsibilities: Finite Production Scheduling:
- Responsible for the development and execution of comprehensive production schedules that meet customer demand while maximizing efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure accurate planning through the measurement of AvS and planning rate validation, recommending and implementing changes to planning as needed.
- Responsible for maintenance and creation of production work orders, planned production orders, and forecasts in the ERP system.
- Balance crewing requirements, asset utilization, cleans, setups, changeovers, and inventory levels.
- Ensure the production schedule accommodates required planned maintenance.
Master Production Scheduling
- Support SIOP process through the execution of the master production schedule.
- Provides visibility of upcoming work and capacity utilization at the weekly level while driving resource optimization and load balancing to achieve best cost.
- Ensures demand and plan of work is in the system to drive MRP requirements for the materials management and production groups, collaborates externally with Customers and internally with Customer Supply Chain group to ensure a demand plan exists for MPS horizon.
- Drives supply chain optimization by ensuring effective allocation of resources based on throughput, cost, and sales variables.
Inventory/Data Management
- Responsible for maintaining proper inventory levels of subcomponents to ensure requirements are met, inventory costs are minimized, and is used before expiration.
- Maintains data in the ERP system to ensure the system plans appropriately.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, materials planning, customer supply chain, logistics, and finance.
- Assumes lead to coordinate production planning activities.
- Leads weekly Production Scheduling Meetings, responsible for reviewing past performance, the current plan, and the future outlook to maximize resource efficiency.
Customer Service
- Receives and processes forecasts for future demand from our customers and communicates a return schedule regularly. Can be done through the customers portal, email, or other methods.
- Maintains regular contact with the customers planning department to communicate schedule changes and updates.
Continuous Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and optimize production planning processes and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reliability, leveraging technology and best practices to drive improvements in optimization and supply chain performance.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and implement technology solutions to optimize operations.
Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in production planning and MRP processes, preferably in the food co-packaging industry.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in ERP software, Microsoft AX preferred.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate meaningful insights.
- Knowledge of food manufacturing processes, industry regulations, and quality standards (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy.
