Blue Ridge Community College is seeking a full-time, 9-month nursing faculty. The two-year Associate Degree program is designed to prepare students educationally as contributing members of the health team, rendering direct patient care as beginning practitioners of nursing in various health services facilities. The Associate Degree Nursing Program at BRCC is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing (VABON). In 2023 and 2024 BRCC’s nursing program achieved its two highest years of NCLEX pass rates in at least the past 15 years! This achievement was made possible by a dedicated faculty team, strong curriculum, and student dedication. This position offers a schedule to enable a healthy work-life balance by being off during the summers, and having time off during each semester break, and around the holidays. This position includes instruction focusing on client care across the lifespan in a variety of settings. BRCC delivers a concept-based curriculum which offers faculty the opportunity to teach a variety of content. This position includes didactic, clinical, lab, and simulation instruction. Blue Ridge Community College faculty are expected to participate in scholarly engagement, professional development which includes teaching pedagogy, institutional responsibility, and community service to both the campus and surrounding communities.
Candidates selected for interview will need to facilitate a teaching demonstration as part of the interview process. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications Master’s Degree in Nursing Current license or a multistate licensure privilege to practice nursing in Virginia as a registered nurse (or eligibility to obtain immediate licensure), without any disciplinary action that currently restricts practice. Minimum of two years of experience in direct patient care as a registered nurse Dedication to teaching and awareness of the community college mission.
