About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director for its Special Projects Practice within Transaction Advisory Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice to clients on U.S. federal income tax issues related to mergers and acquisitions, with a primary focus on Section 382 consultative projects. This role involves being the main technical resource for tax matters, leading Section 382 studies, and driving the firm's strategy in this area. The Managing Director will also be involved in tax consulting, research, and strategy development, and will have supervisory responsibilities, including training and managing a team of tax professionals. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree (with a preference for a major in accounting, finance, economics, or statistics), and a JD, LLM, or Master's degree in a related field is also preferred. A minimum of 10 years' relevant tax experience is required, with a strong background in Section 382, consolidated return regulations, and other related areas. The role demands a high level of technical expertise, including the ability to prepare and review complex tax analyses, and experience in drafting technical tax memorandums. The ideal candidate will have a CPA, JD, LLM, EA, or equivalent certification, and be proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong communication, leadership, and client relationship management skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a team and drive technological innovation in tax analysis.
