Job Description

The Manager of Social Media Operations & Analytics will play a critical role in optimizing Slack’s social media presence by balancing data-driven operations with content creativity. This role will oversee social media operations, including performance measurement across channels, while also supporting the creation of compelling content that communicates Slack’s value to diverse audiences. Reporting to the Director of Social Media Strategy, this position requires a hybrid of analytical expertise and hands-on content capabilities. Ideal candidates will be proactive, detail-oriented, quick-thinking, and able to make editorial decisions informed by data and insights. They must also be comfortable with shifting priorities and ambiguity, as the social media landscape and business needs often change rapidly. Slack’s social media team is resourceful and collaborative, with everyone wearing many hats. This is an opportunity to work across multiple areas—analytics, strategy, operations, and creative execution—on a fast-paced, high-impact team. Responsibilities: Operations & Analytics Manage social media operations, including tagging, tracking, and platform governance to ensure campaigns are fully measurable. Set up, monitor, and maintain systems to track performance, define KPIs, and establish benchmarks for success across platforms (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, YouTube). Analyze social performance data, providing actionable insights to optimize campaigns and inform broader marketing strategies. Develop and refine efficient processes for content scheduling, tagging, and platform distribution. Collaborate with agency partners to optimize reporting, tracking, and performance analysis, and communicate campaign results to senior leadership. Implement new tools and processes to enhance social media operations and performance reporting. Content Creation & Strategy Support content development by writing and editing posts that effectively communicate Slack’s brand and products to key audiences. Partner with social media specialists and creative teams to create, optimize, and distribute engaging content that resonates with Slack’s community. Leverage performance data to guide content strategy, ensuring Slack's social content is both impactful and aligned with business objectives. Exercise strong editorial judgment to quickly adapt messaging and creative based on real-time performance and feedback. Required Skills: 5+ years of experience in social media operations, analytics, content strategy, or a related field. Must be based in Seattle or San Francisco Expertise in social media operations and performance measurement tools. Experience analyzing and translating social media metrics into actionable recommendations. Knowledge of social media management platforms (e.g., Sprinklr, Hootsuite) and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics). Strong project management skills with a focus on operational efficiency, data integrity, and attention to detail. Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to quickly produce high-quality content for social channels. Proactive, adaptable, and able to balance both analytical and creative tasks in a fast-moving environment. Comfortable with shifting priorities and ambiguity. Experience collaborating with social media agencies and cross-functional marketing teams is a plus.
