Job Description
Proctor Academy's Lovejoy Library seeks a Part-Time Library Assistant to support the Proctor Community and work with the library collection while providing a welcoming, safe and open space for study and relaxation.
The essential functions of the position include but are not limited to Library Desk Coverage; Collection Work: processing and cataloging; Test Proctoring; Printing Support; Circulation / Reader Advisory, Support of Community Reading Programs; Limited Individual Research Assistance (databases, books, other resources, subject guides, topics pages/content updates).
The ideal candidate will possess comfort and fluency with people, computers, databases and refining questions as well as directing and encouraging exploration for answers. Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and a warm and open attitude toward working with people are helpful.
Hours are flexible to total 17-20 per week with some evenings before study hall and some Saturdays which can be scheduled flexibly in advance. If you need more details, stop by the library or message Heidi Thoma.
