The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", Information Technology Department has an exciting opportunity for an Epic Solutions Engineer 1 - Patient Flow. The Epic Solutions Engineer 1 - Central (H) develops and deploys clinical applications, hardware and other technologies. The engineer implements system solutions based on user/client needs and requires integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms. This employee also assists with researching, identifying, selecting, and testing technology products required for solution delivery. Establishes, implements, and documents technology integration or migration strategies. The position stays updated on industry trends, new technologies in the industry, and operations supported.
- Engineer's new workflows or optimizes existing business processes that supersede existing standards set in place internally or by vendors utilizing expert knowledge crossing multiple clinical applications and operational areas.
- Works closely with cross-functional healthcare teams, including analysts, vendors, and other technical team implementations with patient flow and business continuity requirements.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with operations teams to ensure effective collaboration and communication, fostering a seamless integration of processes and strategies to achieve organizational goals.
- Leads projects associated with implementation and execution of high complexity and larger impact.
- Applies project management methodology and utilizes standard project management or software for development and maintenance of project plans.
- Keeps abreast of industry information and trends related to information technology systems, attends and participates in continuing professional education courses and programs.
- Acts as a trusted adviser and mentor to healthcare application teams, provides guidance on best practices and technical aspects related to patient flow optimization.
- Implements projects that are ahead of industry/peer trends. Thinks out of the box to stay on the forefront of healthcare technology.
- Collaborates with healthcare stakeholders to implement technical solutions aimed at optimizing patient flow processes.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

- Certification in relevant specialty or field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
- Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
- Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).

Patient safety is a top priority.
