Company Summary CRISP Shared Services (CSS) improves health through data and technology and partners with health information exchange (HIE) affiliates in Maryland, DC, West Virginia, Connecticut, Alaska, Virginia, and other jurisdictions. CSS's technology infrastructure facilitates the electronic transfer of clinical information between disparate information systems in order to positively impact the healthcare system through improved patient care and outcomes, reduced costs, and data-driven understanding of regional public health concerns. Job Summary The Director of Communications provides vision, leadership, and strategy for communicating with internal and external CSS customers. They lead a team in building awareness of current product functionality and features and implementation timelines for product enhancements and new products. They are responsible for equipping affiliates and partners with resources that can be used to create HIE-specific assets to educate and communicate the value of HIE features with participating organizations. This role also works with CSS's marketing and communications vendor across platforms and events to position the business in the Health IT marketplace. Through the work of the communications team, the director helps internal teams work in concert with each other and strengthens relationships with affiliates. They reinforce CSS's market position and support affiliates' efforts to onboard participating organizations and increase the impact of our customers. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Build, execute, and maintain CSS's marketing and communications strategy and plan Manage work plans, budget, and timelines Supervise and assist team with daily operations for communications Work closely with senior leadership to ensure cohesive communication of priorities through all internal and external communication channels Develop, produce, and execute strategic customer communications that demonstrate a strong understanding of what matters to internal, affiliate, and end user audiences and how CSS works - the company's story, capabilities, technology, products, and business lines Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Implementations, and Outreach teams in order to communicate product plans and timelines to internal and external customers effectively Improve processes, infrastructure, and channels to support the communications function, including a data bank of use cases, user materials, release notes, digital templates, naming conventions, and other artifacts Optimize meeting and publication cadence for product and business updates and ensure internal and external customer awareness of the purpose for each channel Develop and maintain educational plans, training materials and learning tools to support affiliates in their creation of specific onboarding materials , especially related to the rollout of new products and services, updates, and enhancements Review website to ensure rich content, accuracy, page additions and informational updates Review system utilization data and analysis to inform communication planning and to measure and monitor the effectiveness of communication strategies Manage communications/public relations aspects of the marketing communications vendor contract Qualifications To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Commitment to CSS mission Strong leadership, project management, and team building skills Ability to bring an idea from concept to execution, creating a roadmap along the way Ability to effectively manage, develop and inspire a team Strong in identifying opportunities, assessing gaps, streamlining processes, and creating solutions Ability to evaluate and solve complex problems and issues System thinking ability to analyze how cross-functional teams interact and influence each other Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and succinctly to both a technical and non-technical audience Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and all levels in the organization Customer service focused, skilled in relationship management and communications Possession and demonstration of high energy, flexibility, creativity, and good judgment Ability to create and implement a strategic plan from scratch Working knowledge of change management models and approaches Solid understanding of functionality and background knowledge of Health Information Exchanges Experience and/or Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field 10+ years in communications and at least 4 years in a leadership role managing people, projects, strategy, and plans Expertise in developing training and communications in a healthcare or other frequently changing environment Experience with communications for technical product rollouts a plus Organizational change management experience a plus Healthcare experience preferred Compensation and Benefits Package Targeted base salary: $135,000 to $145,000 per year, depending on skills and experience, plus benefits and bonuses Benefits include the following but are not limited to health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance. CSS also has a 403(b) plan with discretionary employer match and contributions. You will be eligible for 20 days of Paid Time Off per year (accrued in accordance with CSS's policies). PTO is in addition to 8 company designated holidays. If you are not PTO eligible, you may be eligible for applicable state and/or local sick and safe leave in accordance with the provisions of any applicable state and/or local sick and safe leave laws.
