DIRECTOR, DATA GOVERNANCE

Hybrid - 2 days a week in office

A leader in the insurance industry that offers property and causality insurance, blending data with deep industry experience to provide personalised insurance products

The Role

In this role you'd leave the data governance initiatives within the company, working cross-functionally to implement data governance principles into the company and ensure compliance

• Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive data governance framework across the organization.
• Own and optimize our Microsoft Purview platform to support metadata management, data cataloging, lineage tracking, and data classification.
• Define and enforce data standards, policies, and ownership models, working closely with data stewards and business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with IT, Security, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure data practices align with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, Solvency II).
• Champion data literacy across the company by promoting awareness, training, and clear documentation.
• Monitor data quality KPIs and support root-cause analysis to resolve data issues.

Your Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in data governance, data management, or related fields, preferably in insurance or financial services, industries that are highly regulated.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview.
• Strong understanding of data privacy regulations, compliance standards, and governance best practices.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills - you're just as comfortable talking tech as you are presenting to execs.
• Experience with tools like SQL, Collibra and Informatica.
