Position: Customs Entry Writer

Location: Miami, FL

Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site

A growing mid-sized freight forwarder is seeking an experienced Customs Entry Writer to join its Miami-based operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual who is confident handling import shipments from A to Z and has a strong understanding of both U.S. Customs procedures and freight forwarding operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit customs entries for air and ocean import shipments
• Review commercial documents for accuracy and compliance with CBP regulations
• Coordinate with customs brokers, carriers, and government agencies
• Track and trace shipments to ensure timely customs clearance and final delivery
• Communicate directly with clients to request missing documentation or clarify entry details
• File ISF and support additional compliance filings as needed
• Maintain accurate records and stay up to date with changes in customs regulations
• Collaborate with operations teams to ensure smooth cargo flow and documentation

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in customs brokerage and freight forwarding
• Familiarity with import processes and documentation from A to Z
• Proficient in entry filing systems (e.g., ACE, ABI platforms)
• Strong knowledge of HTS classification and customs regulations
• Experience working with air and ocean freight
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills for client and internal coordination

Preferred:

• Experience using systems such as CargoWise or similar
• Knowledge of PGA requirements (FDA, USDA, etc.)
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
