Job Title: Customer Service Representative – FDA food grade

Department : Traffic

Reports To: Soft Commodities Manager and Traffic Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Our client is looking for an experienced professional to join their team as a Customer Service Representative. As a CSR , you will serve as the main point of contact for a set of clients in our Coffee Division. Under the direction of the Soft Commodities Manager and traffic supervisor, you will manage the day-to-day needs of our clients including tracking of inbound and outbound containers, as well as scheduling drayage. This position will work closely with the Warehouse personnel and Quality to ensure prompt completion of receiving and FDA requirements are meet. This position is in a food grade facility.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide proactive communication to Customers, Warehouse associates and Quality.
  • Respond to Customer inquiries promptly with an initiative-taking approach and sense of urgency.
  • Gather details with any Customer concerns and troubleshoot specific issues.
  • Escalate Customer concern to management if resolution is not easily found.
  • Follow outlined standard operating procedures for each customer.
  • Collaborate and aid teammates with Customer requests as needed.
  • Track imports from Origin and shipments for your assigned clients via terminal Port and steamship line websites.
  • Enter Client information in our proprietary operations system and the client’s system to ensure correct data.
  • Issue instructions for picking up containers to the Drayage companies, watching the LFD on demurrage and detention.
  • Work with customers in multiple departments and required Smartsheet’s to report and solve issues.
  • Work on a deadline to meet customer requirements when containers are released.
  • Excel, billing experience and the ability to work in multiple operating systems.
  • Enter revenues and expenses into customers’ accounts, daily, weekly and monthly.
  • Provide support with reports and KPI’s.
  • Heavy data entry, analysis information and reports for data needed to do the data entry. Verifying information and keeping information updated in the operating system constantly.

SKILLS, CHARACTERISTICS, AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in customer service. Preferred is a minimum of one year in a 3PL or logistics environment, but not needed.
  • Excel, billing experience and the ability to work in multiple operating systems.
  • Data Entry.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate well with a team as well as independently.
  • Strong computer skills preferred, Excel, word and including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Friendly, cheerful, “can-do” demeanor.
  • Excellent time and task management skills.
  • Adaptable to shifting priorities and working effectively in a demanding environment.
  • Flexible Team player.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position will work in an office environment.
  • You will be expected to work a full-time schedule during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 hours with 1 hour lunch. OT is needed during peak seasons.
