Position Focus With limited supervision and oversight from the Director of Clinical Research for Neonatology serves as the clinical research coordinator for multiple multi-center and investigator-initiated neonatology related study protocols. Working under the direction of the Director of Clinical Research for Neonatology, plans, tracks and ensures that the clinical activities for study participants are conducted in accordance with approved protocols. These activities include, but are not limited to patient screening, eligibility determination, registration and other protocol and subject milestones. The CRC is also responsible for ensuring timely and accurate data entry into sponsor databases, coordinating monitoring visits conducted by sponsors and other oversight bodies and ensuring timely resolution of sponsor queries. Have clinical experience in a patient-related setting.
Essential Duties - Evaluates and assesses subject’s suitability for inclusion in studies; develops and modifies procedures according to study findings; recommends changes to the study protocol to coincide with study goals and objectives. 2. Develops and implements procedures and data quality assurance standards for safety monitoring components of studies. 3. Contributes to designing activities, policies and procedures to improve day to day efficiency of the recruitment and assessment components of the study and to ensure that staff members perform activities within established research protocol. 4. Arranges patient enrollment, determines patient eligibility and obtains informed consent. 5. Develops study subject referral sources; designs and develops outreach programs. 6. Collaborates with multidisciplinary researchers to coordinate research programs that integrate new advances in clinical trials. 7. Delegates tasks and supervises the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers. 8. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education And Experience Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing and four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skill/Ability 1 Demonstrated clinical and analytical skills and experience and patient care experience. Ability to evaluate and assess subject’s suitability for inclusion into studies, obtain informed consent, determine patient eligibility and coordinate patient enrollment.
Required Skill/Ability 2 Ability to coordinate clinical research protocols in the healthcare environment at the study set-up phase and during study conduction.
Required Skill/Ability 3 Ability to schedule and coordinate research activities as well as work with a team to develop action items and other means to keep projects moving along according to timeline.
Required Skill/Ability 4 Ability to create and follow research project related supporting documents. Ability to report on the status of project deliverables and draft and submit project updates on study.
Required Skill/Ability 5 Excellent time management and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to communicate effectively.
Preferred Education, Experience And Skills Proven experience with pediatric phlebotomy.
Required Licenses Or Certifications Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut or Connecticut license eligible.
