Join Our Team as an Athletic Trainer PRN!

At Houston Methodist , we are looking for a passionate and dedicated Athletic Trainer PRN to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will play a crucial part in preventing, recognizing, assessing, managing, treating, and rehabilitating athletic injuries, all under the guidance of a licensed physician or qualified health professional. Your expertise will help ensure the safety and well-being of our athletes, making a real difference in their lives.

Key Responsibilities

As an Athletic Trainer PRN, you will:

  • Foster a Positive Environment: Contribute to a supportive, team-oriented atmosphere that drives optimal results.
  • Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with healthcare team members to share vital information and enhance patient care.
  • Provide Oversight: Guide support personnel in patient care duties to ensure high-quality service.
  • Communicate Clearly: Keep patients, families, physicians, and coaches informed about recovery and return-to-play protocols.

Service Excellence

Your role will also involve:

  • Injury Management: Practice prevention, assessment, and treatment of injuries in line with athletic training standards.
  • Documentation: Accurately record patient assessments and treatment notes.
  • Integrated Care: Collaborate with the health team to provide effective exercise and treatment modalities.

Quality and Safety

We prioritize safety, and you will:

  • Ensure Safe Practices: Deliver athletic training that aligns with evidence-based practices.
  • Prepare Athletes: Utilize braces, bandages, and taping techniques to prevent injuries.
  • Identify Hazards: Proactively assess and document any safety issues in the facility.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage Resources Wisely: Use resources effectively while assisting coworkers as needed.
  • Promote Community Engagement: Partner with the community to enhance service utilization.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience: No prior experience required!

Licenses and Certifications

Required certifications include:

  • AT - Certified Athletic Trainer - State Licensure OR
  • AT-Temp - Certified Athletic Trainer - Temporary State Licensure AND
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA)
