The QUIKRETE Companies is seeking candidates for several industrial Laboratory Technician positions at our new corporate Engineering & Technical Center located in Johns Creek, Georgia.

Successful candidates will contribute to the growth of The Quikrete Companies through the creation and development of innovative construction products that create value in the built world. We are known for our leading position in bagged concretes, mortars, and grouts. We also have a significant presence in the CASE space, selling waterproof membranes, moisture barriers, sealants, sealers, and other coatings. These roles will largely support the Custom Building Products and Quikrete product lines. Entry level and experienced laboratory technicians are encouraged to apply.

You will be responsible for testing the existing formulations, evaluating the performance of new products and prototypes, and assessing the viability of a variety of raw materials for use in our products. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and good communication skills.

Job Responsibilities

• Work in a safe manner at all times, following all rules and regulations
• Mix formulations per instructions and preparing test samples
• Test the chemical and physical properties of samples using standard and non-standard test procedures
• Keep excellent written records in a laboratory notebook and in spreadsheets
• Communicate clearly and concisely
• Maintain the laboratory in clean and orderly fashion; we are a 5S facility

Expected Experience and Competencies

• Candidates may have a vocational, 2-year or 4-year college degree/diploma in science, engineering, or a related field. Equivalent and demonstrated experience is acceptable. Advanced degrees are not appropriate for this position.
• 0 to 3 years of laboratory experience, especially related to the manufacture of cement, concrete, paint, coatings, or other construction materials, or field application experience of the construction materials.
• Must be a motivated and possess good analytical thinking and communication skills. Testing precision, accuracy, and record keeping are critical aspects of this role.
• Success requires a good understanding of basic science and mathematics, including simple algebra and units conversion

These positions are based at the brand new QUIKRETE® Engineering and Technical Center in Johns Creek, Georgia.
