Adjunct Faculty
Department of Forensic Science
St. Edward's University, a nationally ranked, independent Catholic university and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach one or more sections of forensic science courses, beginning August 2024. For consideration, candidates must demonstrate a combination of education and/or work experience relevant to the courses being taught. Typically, a master's degree or a minimum of 18 graduate hours in forensic science or a related field is required.
Essential Responsibilities Include: Teaching one or more undergraduate courses in the forensic science program. Possible courses include introduction to forensic science, crime scene investigation, principles and practices of science and law, crime scene photography, death investigations, and DNA profiling. Most courses meet in person at St. Edward's University's campus in Austin, TX. However, for qualified candidates within the state of Texas, online/remote options may be possible.

Applicants will be reviewed as they are received, and teaching assignments for selected candidates will be based on staffing needs and demand. Adjunct faculty are appointed to teach a particular course or courses on a semester basis and are not eligible for promotion, tenure, or fringe benefits. Although adjunct faculty may not be assigned courses each semester, the department maintains a list of active adjuncts who will be contacted when appropriate teaching assignments are available.
